Acadia Park gun law changes

A new law goes in to effect Monday that will change the firearms law at Acadia National Park. But the law isn't sitting well with some gun advocates.

Earlier this year, a federal law went into effect, allowing guns in national parks and wildlife refuges. Under that law, states are permitted to override the federal statute and impose bans at national parks within their borders. Maine did that at Acadia. So, starting Monday, only those with concealed weapons permits, off-duty police, and retired law enforcement will be allowed to have guns in the park.
