Overview

The Pasagshak River and Bay area supports a rich and varied constellation of land, coastal and marine wildlife, including brown bear, whales, seals, dolphins, sea bird colonies, eagles, overwintering waterfowl, shrimp and crab. Enjoy excellent fishing, camping, hiking and wildlife watching here at the Pasagshak River.

Activities

  • Camping

    There are 12 campsites, with a 40 foot RV limit. The camping limit is 15 nights, and there are picnic sites in the campgrounds. Camping at Pasagshak is on a first come first serve basis. The campground is undeveloped with a hand-pump well for drinking water and one latrine. There is no charge to camp and visitors are expected to take out their trash when they leave.

  • Fishing

    Considered one of the outstanding sport fishing streams on Kodiak Island and provides thousands of man-hours of angling annually for Dolly Varden, sockeye, pink, chum, and silver salmon. The bay is fished by commercial purse seiners.

Take Rezanof Drive West to the Chiniak Hwy to the Saltery Cove Road to Bezonoe Road, right on Pasagshak Road. Park entrance on left at milepost 20 of the Pasagshak Road.
