Overview

A 520-acre roadside park, Chickasaw State Park in Alabama is complete with campsites, a wading pool, hiking trails, a barbecue grilling pavilion and other large pavilions and picnic areas. This small park is perfect for group-sized cookouts and gatherings. The Park is also located adjacent to an accessible, state-operated hunting facility. Enjoy their three, modern campsites, equipped with RV hook-ups. There is also an option for a more primitive camping experience there. Picnicking with family and friends is posisble from 7 a.m. until sundown. For that special, large group outdoor event, you can reserve a pavilion. Alabama's Hunting & Fishing Trail for People with Physical Disabilities is a network of public and private recreational sites throughout the state providing accessible fishing, shooting, and hunting opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. One such hunting trail is located here in Chickasaw State Park. Enjoy a fun day filled with hiking, camping, grilling and accessible hunting.

  • Camping

    Primitive camping with water and electricity is available as well as modern camping with 30 amp electricity and water. Restrooms are available but there are no showers.

  • Hiking

    There are many trails in this park, including accessible trails.

  • Hunting

    Alabama's Hunting & Fishing Trail for People with Physical Disabilities is a network of public and private recreational sites throughout the state providing accessible fishing, shooting, and hunting opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities. Pre-season accessible turkey hunting and deer hunting are available at this park. Interested parties must apply and include a certificate of qualification and possess a valid Alabama hunting license. Please plan accordingly.

  • Picnicking

    Picnic tables and grills are located throughout the park and are available on a first come, first served basis. There are also four group pavilions available for rent. One of the pavilions has a large built-in BBQ pit. Reservations for the pavilions can be made by calling the park office.

  • RVing

    RV's can use the 30 amp electricity and water hook ups at the modern campsites.

Driving

From Gallion, head south on AL-69 toward Sydney Lane for 12.9 miles. Then, turn right at AL-69/County Road in 69 feet and turn right at AL-13/US-43.
