Frank Jackson State Park
Overview
This 2,050-acre park is proud to serve as a premier fishing destination with its 1,000-acre stream-fed lake. As the primary park attraction, Lake Jackson, in addition to providing outstanding fishing and swimming opportunities, also features shoreline picnic areas. Lakefront RV camping sites with cable TV hookups and a nice modern bathhouse make it a great camping destination. There's also a natural island, with a boardwalk and walking path.
Activities
Camping
The campground has 32 sites, some of which look out over the lake, ensuring visitors a great view. All sites are full hook-up, and three are accessible. Tents are welcome on any of the sites. Free WiFi is available at all campsites.
Fishing
Lake Frank Jackson is specially stocked and managed for prime freshwater fishing. Bass, bream, crappie, and catfish are abundant. Each April, anglers converge on the park for a bass fishing tournament. A handicap accessible fishing platform is located at the northwest end of the dam and is accessible from Highway 42. Boat launch ramps provide easy access for boaters.
Picnicking
Have a relaxing picnic on the shores of Lake Jackson.
RVing
All 32 sites in the campground have water, electric, sewer, and cable TV hookups. Free WiFi is available at all campsites.
Water Sports
Visitors are welcomed to explore the lake by boat, or to go for a swim from the grassy beach.

Located just off Highway 331 on the north side of Opp. From Opp : Head north on 331/AL-9/N Main St toward Memorial Ave ,1.5 miles Slight right to stay on 331/AL-9/N Main St ,266 feet Turn left at AL-9/N Main St/US-331 Continue to follow AL-9/US-331 ,0.9 miles Turn right at Highway 38.
