Oh, Ranger! Story Tour: An Update From The Road

July 26, 2010, 8:52 am

The Oh, Ranger! Story Tour is traveling to national parks and public lands all across America, collecting stories from park-lovers like you! Your stories will inspire others to seek out new adventures in our national parks. As tour sponsor, Hyundai will donate $100,000 to the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA). With your help, we will create an archive to document and preserve the evolving stories of our national parks.

Our team of Oh, Ranger! Story Tour ambassadors has been extremely busy for the past couple of weeks... and hot! Temperatures are rising, with triple digits the norm in July around the breathtaking red rocks of Utah. The team recently visited the gateway communities of Arches, Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks, gathering stories from park-lovers just like you. We even had the mayor from Bryce Canyon City come out to share a memory, along with the great, great grandson of a man who's featured in a 1913 picture that hangs in the Ruby's Inn lobby, right outside the entrance to Bryce!

Our team has now made their way to the Grand Canyon, set up at the Squire Inn on the park shuttle bus route in the gateway community of Tusayan, which is right at the entrance to the park. It's monsoon season at the canyon, so things have cooled off a bit. Keep an eye out for the Oh, Ranger! Hyundai tour vehicles and be sure to take part in the fun. Their Grand Canyon stop marks the eighth tour stop in our inaugural year and we still have lots of great parks to visit before the fall!  Next stop is Yosemite, before we turn east and take the northern route back across America.
