Snomobile Utah

The snow that makes Utah a famous ski destination piles deep in our mountains and creates a paradise for snowmobilers. As a result, some of America's best snowmobile trails are found here.

Some of the crew from Utah.com recently enjoyed a guided snowmobile tour with Lofty Peaks Adventures, out of Midway, Utah. They went into the Wasatch Mountains State Park area, between Midway and Park City, and had a great time. Along the way they took the photos that illustrate this newsletter.

It is an exhilarating feeling to fly up a snowy ridge, blurred trees racing by, up to a mountain peak where you can see forever.

Lofty Peaks offers an excellent guide service - we recommend them for guided tours in that area. We work with a number of other top notch companies--see Utah.com's preferred providers for guided trips and machine rentals.

Utah has 17 designated snowmobile complexes, with more than 1,200 miles of groomed trails. Many of those trails interconnect to form routes that stretch as far as you want - from the red rock country of southern Utah, along the Skyline Drive, into the Uinta Basin, past Mirror Lake and Bear Lake, and other attractions. Some connect with routes in Idaho and Wyoming, with some leading up into the Yellowstone area.

If you want fresh powder, Utah has plenty. We offer thousands of acres of high-mountain bowls and play areas that can be accessed from the groomed trail complexes.

If you have your own sleds, bring them. If you want to rent machines and clothing, you can do that and ride without a guide. If you want a guided tour, Utah have excellent companies ready to customize a trip to meet your interests.
