When the weather outside gets frightful, nothing warms up the spirits like sweet huckleberries. The name often conjures up images of the fictional character from middle school readings, Huckleberry Finn. But there may be a few things you don’t know about these delectable treats, including where to buy them.

Across the west, wildlife relies on these succulent berries as part of their essential diet. Black bears and grizzly bears indulge in the sweet huckleberries during the summer months. The berry with the purplish hue grows wild across the western and northwestern United States, including Alaska.

Found across famous national parks, such as Glacier and Yellowstone, the huckleberry is an icon of the wilderness. Berry picking is a fun and easy way to get out with the family, explore nature and come home with a natural treat. If these berries don’t grow in your neck of the woods, fret not!

Yellowstone General Stores, operated by Delaware North Company, offer a variety of products that will satisfy your huckleberry cravings. Bring the authentic west and wilderness into your home. Choose from huckleberry flavored jam, honey, lemonade, pie filling, BBQ sauce and even apple butter!

Huckleberries go great with virtually everything. Add some huckleberry jam to your toast in the morning or sprinkle some huckleberry syrup on your pancakes. Don’t be surprised if your family starts asking for seconds!

Get your paws on some at a Yellowstone General Store in person or call (406) 586-7793. If you can’t travel out west to buy them, huckleberry products can also be ordered with a few clicks of the mouse at yellowstonegift.com.
