Fishing is possible in Shell Creek. Adelaide Trail is to the east and Trail 184 goes west. Ranger Creek Campground and Group Picnic Area are less than a mile to the east.

Shell Falls and Shell Canyon are located on State Highway 14 (Bighorn Scenic Byway). Shell Falls has a viewing platform and there is an information and sales area, displays and interpretive trail. Shell Canyon is a narrow gorge that winds through mountain terrain to Big Horn Basin (where bighorn sheep can sometimes be seen).
