Celebrate the 62nd annual Death Valley '49ers Encampment!

When the weather in the north starts getting chilly, head down to warmer weather for some fun. Join the Death Valley '49ers from Nov. 9-13 for the 62nd annual Death Valley '49ers encampment. The encampment includes a large amount of family friendly activities that will be sure to entertain.

The gathering is a celebration of the 1849 gold rush wagon train that crossed Death Valley. Thousands of people gather and partake in quintessential southwest events as well as honor the history of Death Valley. At this year's encampment, there will be musical performances, contests, crafts, tours, educational presentations and much more.

Can’t resist a good performance? A variety of concerts will take place throughout the encampment, including the annual Grassy Green Pickin' and Fiddlin' Contest. If you want to feel like a genuine '49er, put you skills to the test and don't miss the Family Gold Panning Event & Contest.

If five days isn’t quite enough to satisfy your love of Death Valley, you may just want to make a week of it! There are plenty pre-encampment events happening from Nov. 6-8. Take a 4x4 tour, enjoy a craft show, watch the horseshoe tournament, tour Furnace Creek and much more!
