Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter Honors the Past

Chaco Culture National Historical Park QuarterCarry a token honoring some of the earliest cultures in America. The Chaco Culture National Historical Park Quarter is the second America the Beautiful Quarter this year and the twelfth coin in the series. The quarter is dedicated to the Chaco Culture National Historical Park in New Mexico. A public release is set for Monday, April 2.

The quarter paints a beautiful scene of the historic site, with two massive stone kivas and the north wall of the Chetro Ketl set against a canyon backdrop. Chaco is known for its amazing displays of ancient architecture, from multi-storied homes to ceremonial buildings. Nearly 4,000 archaeological sites are documented in the park, where humans occupied the area for around 7,000 years. It remains one of the best archeological hot spots in the country.
