Documentary Captures Spirit of America's Wildest Refuge

Alaska is a magical place. It's wild and rugged and offers sweeping landscapes, abundant wildlife, and a true sense of wilderness. An amazing documentary, titled America’s Wildest Refuge: Discovering the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, offers a chance to view some of Alaska's most majestic scenery.

The hour-long documentary offers sweeping views of the refuge, as well as great shots of the wildlife that call it home. We've found a trailer of America's Wildest Refuge, which is definitely worth your time.

Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter release ceremony on Aug. 30

The ceremony for the Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter will take place Tuesday, August 30 at the USS Cairo Museum located on the grounds of the park. The ceremony starts at 9:30 a.m. Central Time (CT).

MLK Memorial Dedication set for August 28

Washington will soon have a new memorial for visitors to explore. The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is set to be dedicated on August 28, 2011. It marks the 48th anniversary of Dr. King's March on Washington and historic "I Have a Dream" speech. The dedication ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. and a post-dedication concert will follow at 2 p.m.

Free Trolley Program in Gatlinburg!

As the Great Smoky Mountains National Park enters its summer peak, Gatlinburg has announced its new free Parkway Trolley Program which began on June 27th. The free trolley runs from Traffic Light Number One, which is located near the north end of the town to Light Number 10, located at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
