Overview

Located in south San Jose, Almaden Lake Park is the only park featuring a sand beach and swim area in the South Bay. Many visitors come to relax and enjoy the recreational opportunities to fish along the shores of the 32 acres of lake, hike and bike in our beautiful 65 acre facility. Others enjoy a nice family or company picnic and play volleyball, toss horseshoes and Bocce ball courts are available on a first come first serve basis, you will need to provide your own equipment. Court etiquette is expected. The Westside of the park is considered a wildlife sanctuary and the swim beach area must remain clean. A concession stand is open on a seasonal basis, and offers beverages, light foods, refreshments and rentals of pedal boats and life jackets. Tthere are large green open lawns and picnic areas with barbecue pits. Tot lots are located at both sides of the park and feature water play area. Connected to the south end of Almaden Lake Park is the Los Alamitos Creek Trail, which continues to Santa Teresa County Park. This 3.9-mile trail features a fitness course and takes you by scenic agricultural lands and riparian communities.
