Cane River Creole National Historical Park
Park Regulations & Safety
Your Safety
The enchanting grounds of Oakland and Magnolia Plantations present challenges to visitors, such as uneven or muddy trails, fire ants, and an exciting variety of reptiles. It is always a good idea to watch your step.
Permits
Although visitors are welcome to use the entrance pavilion at Oakland Plantation for picnics, reunions, and other gatherings, all open park areas remain accessible to all park visitors during business hours.
If a group wishes to retain private use of the pavillion or the grounds after-hours, arrangements should be made with park staff, and cost may be incurred to cover staffing.
