This kind of information varies from park to park.  I would suggest contacting the park you are visiting and to find out their policy.

If you are a AAA member, you can call your local hotline and they will send one. If you are currently traveling, there are a number of visitor centers in nearby towns to Yellowstone, including West Yellowstone, where you can receive a copy of the guide to Yellowstone National Park.

You can also send us a self addressed, stanmped (.95 cents) envelope (6x9 inches) and a not for which guide you need to:

Thanks for the question. We are planning on developing our popular Oh, Ranger! ParkFinder™ app for Android OS by the end of the year, if not sooner. We'd welcome your feedback if you think that there are any features that you'd like to see included in our build. Please send your suggestions to appsupport @ americanparknetwork.com.

Check these folks out...  Not sure of your season, but seems to be a fairly standard set of rates for reputable outfits.

Flight costs vary depending on many factors (season, company...).  Most flights will depart from Fairbanks.  Here is a helpful website that can direct you to different air taxis and options:  http://fairbanks-alaska.com/air-transportation.htm

The weather can vary from 59 degrees to 27 degrees.  In my opinion, that's a little chilly, but everyone is different.  Most people I know would say that's a beautiful time of year to travel to Bryce and Zion.

Bryce Canyon is high elevation (around 9000 ft) so can be chilly and/or snowy by October.   You can have nice days in Oct, depending on the year, but expect fall weather.  Zion is much lower in elevation and should be quite a bit warmer that time of year, though nights will always be cool in the canyon.

Are there any photos of the switchbacks and tunnel on Utah's route 9 traveling east from Zion National Park and of the hogbacks on route 12?

There are not many images of the switchbacks, but if you are interested in the Zion Canyon Tunnel click here. The National Park Service offers loads of information on the tunnel because of how narrow it is. Most large RV's and busses have to be escorted through as NPS closes traffic in one direction. The route is most scenic, and I highly recommend it if you are not in a rush to get to the park. During the summer months, there can be delays as you approach the park from Route 9.

Considering that Death Valley is the largest park in the lower 48 states, I would always recommend that you stay longer! There is a lot of park to be seen in such a short period of time, and Death Valley has a lot to offer whether you are auto-touring or hiking. Just remember that there is a vast range of temperatures throughout the park, so be sure to being layers for chilli desert nights!

Our favorites are the Salt Flats, Racetrack Playa, and the Dunes. With three days you may have time to see them all!

For more on things to do in the park, visit our page on Death Valley here.

The Oh, Ranger! iPhone app has just been given a huge makeover. The new app has desriptions of all federal and state recreation areas (more than 6,250 areas), as well as the ability to filter based on the type of activity you are interested in. Nearly every park in the app has the official park map available to browse. Here is the the URL to download the app - best of all, it's FREE!
