Going-to-the-Sun highway won't open in its entirety until at least June 15th. After that, the complete opening depends solely on the weather, so be sure to keep checking your local forecast. Currently, the area between Avalanche and Jackson Glacier Overlook is still closed, making it impossible to drive straight through the highway. The link below is a live map that shows which portions of the highway are open at any given time.

The drive is about five hours when you follow I-90 E to US 93-N and then US-2 E. But give yourself plenty of time to get there in case of road construction or delays. For more information, please call the park office at (406) 888-7800.

As of now all park roads are currently open except on the west side from fish creek to lodging creek and the quarter circle bridge road. This is subject to change if heavy snow creates an avalanche so refer back to the website http://www.nps.gov/glac/index.htm if anything changes between now and when you head out to the park.
