Cedar Creek & Belle Grove National Historical Park

In A Nutshell


Airplane. Metro-DC international airports are 1-2 hours from the park including Dulles, Regan-National, and Baltimore.

Car. The site is located at the intersection of Interstates 81 and 66 in the northern Shenandoah Valley. The historic Valley Pike (U.S. Route 11) runs through the park. Strasburg and Middletown are adjacent to the park.

From the north, take I-81 exit 302 and then head south on U.S. 11. From the south, take I-81 exit 298 and then go north on U.S. 11.

Facilities. The Park Headquarters office is located at 7718 1/2 Main St. in Middletown. The Cedar Creek Visitor Center and Belle Grove Plantation house are located on U.S. 11 just a few miles south of Middletown (or north of Strasburg).

The National Park Service currently has no public facilities at the park.

Fees & Reservations

Currently, there are no Park Service operated facilities at the park; therefore fees and National Park Pass discounts do not apply. Please see partner websites regarding admission fees to non-Park Service visitor facilities.

Summers are generally hot and humid, and winters are generally cool to cold. Precipitation is variable year-round with occasional winter snowfall. The area receives about 40 inches of precipitation per year, mostly in the form of rain. Much of the area is open fields which are subject to gusty winds.

Good walking shoes and layered clothing in cool months are recommended.
