If you are looking for solitude then this is the campground for you. Black Lake has 26 drive in campsites and 3 walk-in sites. Each site has a fire grate and picnic table and can accommodate RV's up to 45 feet (see table below for additional site size information). Most campsites have a level surface. Water pumps, accessible vault toilets, two boat ramps, a swimming beach, and picnic area are also available. Campsites may be reserved through a campground reservation system. Black Lake has a 4-mile interpretive trail that follows the wooded shoreline.
Travel east from Hayward on Highway B for 26 miles to the intersection of B, Highway W and Fishtrap Road. Turn left (north) on Fishtrap Road and drive 4.9 miles to the intersection of Forest Road 173 and drive 0.4 miles to the entrance. Turn right (east) on the campground road and proceed 0.5 miles.
