Cliff Ridge Hang Gliding Area
Overview
At an elevation of 8,150 ft., atop the Blue Mountain Plateau, would-be fliers can enjoy spectacular deep canyons of both the Green and the Yampa Rivers. Approximately 30 miles east of Vernal, Utah, Cliff Ridge Hang Gliding Area offers outdoor excitement and exploration for the boldest of adventurists. If hang gliding is your forte, Cliff Ridge is the place for you. Soar through canyons within Dinosaur National Monument. If you have time to do some exploring, Dinosaur National Monument offers grand historical and cultural exhibits. The monument provides habitat for more than 1,000 native species of plants and animals and includes more than 200,000 acres of river canyons, mountains, and basins.

Seasonality/Weather
The climate is semiarid with temperatures averaging between 0 (F) to 30 (F) in January and 50 (F) to 100 (F) in July. Elevations nearby vary between 4700 and 9000 feet. Winter snow makes roads at higher elevations impassable while only light to moderate snow is found at lower elevations.

From Vernal, go about 30 miles east on US 40. Turn north at Dinosaur National Monument headquarters near Dinosaur Colorado.
