Things To Do

Cottage Grove Lake is a popular recreation area for fishing, boating, water-skiing, swimming, camping, and picnicking. The lake and its shoreline are set in the gently rolling hills of the Willamette Valley. The Cottage Grove Dam, completed in 1942, stores up to 33,000 acre-feet of water and provides valuable flood control as well as irrigation, recreation and improved navigation downstream. The area is also managed to provide habitat for a wide variety of wildlife species, including waterfowl, blacktail deer, upland game birds, songbirds, bald eagles, osprey and many other species. There are also four day use only parks at Cottage Grove Lake. Three are on the lakeshore and one is on the river immediately below the dam.

Lakeside Park is located on London Road just past the dam. The park has paved roads and parking lots, flush toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is a boat launch ramp with a courtesy dock located near the entrance to the park.

Wilson Creek Park is located on Reservoir Road at the southwest end of the lake. The park has paved roads and parking lots, flush toilets, picnic tables, fire rings, a children's play area, and an unsupervised swim area. A boat launch ramp with a courtesy dock is located near the entrance to the park.

Riverside Park is located downstream from the dam, on the east bank of the river. This is a minimally developed park with a gravel road and parking area, two picnic tables, and a vault toilet. There is a paved path along the river with accessible pull-outs that are close enough to the river for fishing.
