Boston Run Trail

The Boston Run Trailhead is located at the northeast corner of the main parking lot for Happy Days Visitor Center. This is a loop trail of 3.4-miles and rated as a moderate trek. It is recommended that skiers use the counterclockwise direction.

From the edge of the open field, travel past the trail junction on the left. This is the end of the loop re-entering the path. Within a very short distance, the trail enters beech woodland where users will make several descents and ascents. After traveling through a low-lying area and scrub meadows, the trail makes another descent. Be aware that this time the trail makes a sharp turn at the bottom crossing a creek. Just beyond, the trail ascends to a route of fairly level ground approximately 1.5-mile in length. Habitat is a mixed forest with a smattering of maples, dogwoods, hemlock and aspen that entice not only humans, but wildlife, too. The later half of the trail offers several scenic resting benches from which visitors can enjoy the plant and wildlife. The end of the trail is marked by a steep descent back down to Boston Run. After several more creek crossings, the trail ascends back to the beginning spilling out by the open field and parking lot.
