Cross-Country Trail

The Cross-Country Trail is a 2.5-mile moderate route through a series of woodland hills, old farmland, overgrown meadows, and lakeside slopes. Winding through a region east of Kendall Lake, users can enter the trail from the Kendall Lake Shelter off Truxell Road or from the Little Meadow parking area on Quick Road. The path has trail junctions with Lake Trail and Salt Run Trail, each are footpaths. Most commonly seen wildlife along the trail includes a variety of bird life, amphibians and reptiles, and white-tailed deer. Evidence of beaver is present near Kendall Lake.

Directions from Kendall Lake Area, CVNP: Travel State Route 303 out of Hudson turning south (left) onto SR 8 / Akron-Cleveland Road. Take SR 8 less than a mile turning right (west) onto Truxell / Kendall Park Road. You'll see a large RV dealer located on the east side of SR 8. You'll head west! Travel 1.7 miles west to reach Kendall Lake. The trail begins by the shelter.

Directions from Little Meadow, CVNP: Travel south out of Peninsula along Akron Peninsula Road about 1.5 miles turning left (east) onto Quick Road. Travel a short distance to Little Meadow parking area. Trail is located at end of lot. Signage is good.
