Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Happy Days Visitor Center

From State Route 303, Happy Days Visitor Center rests on the south side of the road. Handicapped parking is available directly behind the center, while the general public parks in an expansive lot across the road. If you've got kids, one of the most enjoyable features for them at this particular visitor center will be running through the tunnel that passes beneath SR 303.

The main entrance to the center is around back where you'll be greeted by a life-size bronze statue of a Civilian Conservation Corps member. Inside Happy Days, you'll find a wonderful resource area with materials and a ranger available to answer any questions. Surrounding the ranger's station is a large book sale area operated by the Eastern National Park & Monument Association, complete with an excellent selection of guidebooks, children's activity books, and lovely note cards created by local photographers. To the right of the ranger station is a room where you may leisurely explore through materials about all the national sites in Ohio. At a small desk rests a computer where visitors are welcome to log on and browse the Internet. The center also has meeting rooms, restrooms, and drinking water. Picnic tables and grills are available as well. Speak with the ranger about the Junior Ranger programs and other educational opportunities available at Happy Days. A lengthy list of opportunities awaits.

Two trails are accessed from Happy Days: Behind the center just beyond the staff and handicapped parking lot, a very visible trailhead kiosk welcomes you to the well-worn 0.5-mile Haskell Run Trail. Across SR 303 at the northeast corner of the main parking lot, the 3.4-mile Boston Run Trail begins. This trail doubles as a winter cross-country ski path.
