Things To Do

This 933-acre park is divided by grey stone walls built of local stone in the late 1800s. At that time the property was a dairy farm owned by the du Pont family. Delaware's first two nature preserves are located within Brandywine Creek State Park: Tulip Tree Woods, a majestic stand of 190-year-old tulip poplar, and Freshwater Marsh. Set up a picnic, fly a kite or play disc golf on the open fields. Hike one of the many trails that wind around the creek, or canoe it for a different experience.

The park is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. Normal park office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.
