Open since 1905, Delaware's only zoo is located a few steps from the Brandywine River. This quaint facility is home to a variety of species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians. Come see the exotic Siberian tiger, Golden Lion Tamarins, playful river otters, Andean condors, Florida bobcat, binturongs, sandhill crane, burrowing owls, pygmy goats, llama, rhea and the world's largest rodent, the capybara.

The Brandywine Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please call for admission fees.

Cross Streets: Van Buren St. and North Park Dr.

From the south: Take I-95 North to Exit 7 (Delaware Ave.) Continue straight for 4 lights. At 4th light (Delaware Ave.) turn left. Turn right on Van Buren St. (sign "I-95 Baltimore/South"). Continue straight on Van Buren St. Go under overpass and cross bridge. Immediately over bridge is zoo entrance. Parking lot is on the right (along the river).

From the north: Take I-95 South to Route 202 South (Concord Pike). Go south on Concord Ave. Turn right onto N. Broom St. Follow several blocks to a "T" - Turn left onto W. 18th St. Turn right onto N. Van Buren St. (cobblestone street). Brandywine Zoo Main Entrance on your left. At bottom of cobblestone hill, turn left onto N. Park Dr. Parking lot is on the right (along the river).

From Downtown Wilmington: Take Delaware Van Buren St. Cross Van Buren St. Bridge. Immediately over bridge is zoo entrance. Follow right onto N. Park Dr. (zoo is on your left). Parking lot is on the right (along the river).
