Directions
Mount Eielson rises almost 6000?, and commands a spectacular view of the Alaska Range and the lower Muldrow Glacier. Glacier Creek flows along the eastern edge of the Muldrow Glacier, feeding the Thorofare River. This portion of the Muldrow Glacier is covered in tundra, some brush, and loose gravel. Crossing the glacier is strenuous, time-consuming, and dangerous. There are ice ponds, gravel covered ice patches, deep rock fissures, and open water.
