With the McKinley River and the Muldrow Glacier as borders, this unit is extremely difficult to access. The portion of the Muldrow comprising the eastern boundary is very rugged, with high scree and ice slopes, and numerous streams flowing over exposed ice. The McKinley River is a large river system with anywhere from two to thirty channels, many of which run three to four feet deep or deeper.

The northern portion of unit 19 consists mostly of rolling hills, wet tundra, and many small ponds.

No direct access is possible. Access via units 13, 14, 18, or 20.
