Latitude, Longitude: 63.722321, -148.916931

Lower Riley Creek is a large stream, with thick spruce and willow forests covering the valley. The ridge tops near Lower Riley Creek also tend to be brushy. Hiking in this area is often difficult due to thick vegetation. In the Upper Riley Creek area the taiga forest eventually starts to thin out. Low, dry tundra is found at higher elevations. The headwaters of Riley Creek originate from Fang Mountain.
