Everglades National Park

Everglades National Park

Flamingo Lodge

In the fall of 2005 many facilities in Everglades National Park were damaged by hurricanes Katrina and Wilma. The Flamingo area suffered storm surges that flooded nearly all facilities in that area and filled the Florida Bay side of the Flamingo Marina with mud. While recovery efforts continue, most of the facilites in the park are open and accessible.

Flamingo Lodge remains closed due to extensive damages sustained from Hurricanes Katrina & Wilma. The Backcountry and Florida Bay boat ramps are open and available to boaters. For current information on the boat ramps, please call the National Park Service at (305) 242-7700. If you are interested in information regarding fishing charter guides working out of the Flamingo Marina for Xanterra Parks & Resorts, please call Captain John Griffiths at (305) 297-2656 or Captain Neil Baron at (305) 270-8035 directly.

The Flamingo Marina Store offers bait, fuel, boat tours and canoe rentals. Please check back periodically for updates. There will be no overnight lodging, houseboat rentals or dining services available in 2007—08 winter season.
