This is a 8,700 acre Wildlife Management Area open to hunting according to the following regulations and conditions:
Deer - Archery (Either Sex): Sept. 13-14, 20-
21, 27-28, Oct. 4-5, 25-26, Nov. 8-9, 22-23,
29-30, Dec. 13-14, 27-28; Sign-In.
Primitive Weapons (Either Sex): Oct. 11-12;
Check-In.
Firearms (Either Sex): Oct. 18-19, Nov. 1-2;
Check-In. Nov. 15-16, Dec. 6-7, 20-21, Jan.
3-4; Sign-In.
Turkey - Adult/Child: Mar. 28-29, Apr. 4-5;
Quota 15; Check-In.
Small Game - Aug. 16-17, 23-24, 30-31,
Sept. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28,Oct. 4-5, Oct.
25-26, Nov. 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29-30, Dec.
6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28, Jan. 3-4, 10-11,
17-18, 24-25, 31-Feb. 1, 7-8, 14-15, 21-22.
Fox squirrel hunting prohibited. Pigeons &
pen-reared quail may be used for training
pointing, flushing and retrieving dogs in
designated areas only (see page 16). No
furbearer season.
Alligators - Sept. 6-7, 13-14, 20-21, 27-28,
and Oct. 4-5 in accordance with rules and
regulations pursuant to alligator hunting.
Waterfowl - Sat. & Sun. only during state
season. Shooting hours end at 12:00 noon.
SPECIAL REGULATIONS: Apply for adult/child
turkey hunts between February 1-28 by letter to:
DNR, Game Management, 1773-A Bowens Mill
Hwy., Fitzgerald, GA 31750. Outboard motors in
waterfowl impoundments limited to 10 hp or less. No
firearms hunting, except for doves and small game,
within designated archery only areas. No ATVs or
motorcycles allowed on area. A valid Moody Air Force
Base Hunting and Fishing Permit may be substituted
for WMA license. Hiking trail from check station closed
to hikers during firearms deer hunts. Federal lands
within WMA may be closed for military training.
