Chaco Sandals Women's Z/2 Sandal Chaco Sandals: Women's Z/2 Sandal

Superior fit and durability combined with a toe loop for precise forefoot control.

Take a poll of river guides and you will find that Chaco's performance line of sandals is considered the gold standard for rough amphibious use. The Chaco Z/2 women's sandal is one of those models and thanks to its toe strap feature is perhaps the most performance-oriented model of the line. The pull-through strap feature allows for tightening down on the big toe or any other portion of the foot as loosely or as firmly as possible providing increased forefoot precision in ever-changing terrain. Whether it's time to go back in the water or hike a few miles with wet straps the Chaco Z/2 sandal's soft polyester webbing dries faster than nylon and maintains a consistent fit in all conditions. But perhaps the best features are what lie underfoot. First a BioCentric™ footbed contour supports the foot for a healthy stride. Long a passion of the designers at Chaco this footbed platform carries the seal of approval from the American Podiatric Medical Association. And for unmatched all-terrain traction and durability a Vibram® Unaweep outsole on the Chaco Z/2 sandal grips anything from rounded river rocks to crushed pumice.

The sandals are amazingly comfortable. I went on a rafting/camping trip and wore those sandals for 4 straight days including the nights. They kept my arch supported and the straps were nice and adjustable. A few friends recommended them and so I gave in. I would recommend them to everyone.

appreciate the arch support and the way the straps hold the foot close to footbed. the toe strap helps counter the pull of the single strap across the 1st toe which is much more comfortable especially with bunions. However the toe strap does rub slightly and seems to slip from the position I pull it in. ALTREC: if you have hints I'd appreciate any on keeping the strap from slipping- it seems to tighten around my toe.

I think I like 'em Image: 5 Stars

This is my first pair of Chacos. I had tried them on in an outdoor store before (the ZX/2 version with the double skinny strap) and wasn't sure what I thought--the narrow straps felt like they dug into my foot more than I liked. Then I tried on a pair of these with the wider strap and liked them but the shop didn't have my size in the colors I liked. So I got them from Altrec. I have somewhat narrow feet and was worried about the width but I ordered the regular width and it fits me fine. (I might have accidentally tried on a wide width in the store which was way too big). I normally wear an 8 1/2 and debated whether to size up or down as these only come in whole sizes. Decided to size down and that was the right choice as the arch support hits my foot in just the right place and is very comfortable. I think I would have slid around a bit in a larger size plus which the toe loop would not have sat correctly around the knuckle of my big toe. The shoes are taking a bit of getting used to as I am not used to sandals with such substantial arch support--my feet particularly the one with an old injury which needs more support ached after a couple of hours the first day. So I have been wearing them for a few hours at a time and each time they are getting more and more comfortable. I do notice too that my back feels better when I wear these. I like being able to adjust the straps and I definitely think that I'm going to be keeping these for a long time to come.

I bought these shoes based on the recommendations of other shoppers and I wasn't steered wrong.. They are super comfortable (almost like not wearing shoes but yet with the support of shoes). Regarding fit I agree with the person who sized down a half size. I usually wear a 9 and 1/2 but the 9 turned out to fit just right. The shoe feels comfortable all day long and I can't wait to put them on. This is a good recommendation coming from me too as I usually wear orthotics. As for the straps well I got them straps figured out right away (maybe I am just lucky). One cool personal benefit that I sort of discovered when watering my garden is that I can clean up my mud-soaked feet and mud-covered shoes just by putting my foot under the hose. (Before it was a hassle cleaning up my old muddy sneakers with the hose and still after that my feet were in need of their own cleaning indoors.) I wear the shoe indoors and it dries on my foot—pretty handy!. For me the shoes are not the best for fast walking because my foot slides around too much. For me walking shoes are better. Over-all however you can't go wrong buying these shoes.
