Rack Pack Uni Bike Bag

Good for the price, but...
I got a pair of these from Altrec for a 500 mile tour up the US West Coast. After 500 miles through Northern California they are still in one piece but they have required some babying along the way. There is no reinforcement on the back panel so it bows out making it really difficult to get the hooks onto the rack. The hooks themselves are too soft of a metal and I had to keep bending them back into place. Also the fabric on the bottom is too thin - a raccoon got two swipes at one of them with its claws and now I can see light through it. For the price, I really can't complain. They're light and mount pretty easily when not completely stuffed. Should fit just about any rack. Thanks to the waterproof lining, my stuff never got wet even though I ran into some pretty heavy rains. The drawstring tops and the front and top pockets are real handy. It's slightly V-shaped so I didn't have much of a problem with heel-kick. I'm continuing on to Seattle now and am considering the Rack Pack or Rack Pack DS. They both have reinforced backs and better mounting gear.
