This was exactly what I had hoped it would be! It’s very lightweight and can tuck into nearly any spot in my pack or even in a large pant pocket. It definitely “cuts” any chill from the wind but yet is not an overly warm jacket thus making it perfect for those cool breezes on the summits during warmer months of the year when you don’t need a really need (or want) an overly warm jacket. Additionally it is stylish enough to wear even for "non-hiking" adventures around town.

This was recommended by another backpacker friend of mine. I have an older DriClime Windshirt (which includes the fleece). This has served me well on many 3 season backpacking trips but I like the flexibility of separating this into two layers. So now a thin insulating base layer and this Ion windshirt actually ends up being lighter and more flexible. I usually use this windshirt on trips where rain is not likely expected and generally for in camp or when I'm not in motion.
