Merrell Shoes Women's Chameleon II Stretch Hiking Shoe Merrell Shoes: Women's Chameleon II Stretch Hiking Shoe

Easy-fitting elastic cord lacing system and plenty of stretch comfort for extended day hikes.

If going fast on trails is second nature the easy-fitting Chameleon II Stretch is second skin. Built with more reinforcement material along the upper than most trail running shoes Merrell's easy-access trail shoe features extra comfort and fit features like an elastic cord lacing system and convenient friction cordlock. Above the impact-absorbing Air Cushion® midsole is a contoured 4.5-mm. anatomical footbed backed by a supportive nylon 6.6 injection molded arch shank and a female-specific Q-Form™ triple density compression molded EVA frame. The Vibram® Chameleon Sport™ sole looks narrower than some bulky hiking shoes but Merrell divided the high traction sole between long-lasting Dura rubber lugs and grippy Versa rubber lugs for reliable hold on a range of surfaces. If you're looking for some extra weather protection consider checking out the waterproof and breathable Merrell Chameleon II Gore-Tex® XCR® shoe.

Fabulous. Fit like a glove. Great support for the whole foot including the arches and neoprene collar is very comfortable. I have an old pair of Chameleons which I love but the Chameleon II's are significantly better.

When I first saw them I thought they look pretty wierd and ugly. But after slipped my feet in I decided to buy them because they are very comfortable to walk with. I've owned them for almost a year now and have been my favorite pair since last Mar. However these shoes are not the best because of some reasons e.g. they're quite slippery especially on wet floor/ice the outer soles seem to worn out faster than normal (may be I've worn them a lot??). I think the size run a bit bigger because I had to buy half size down (38) compare to other brands that I usual buy for half size bigger like Salomon. I think they're great shoes for casual walk in town (I used them in Bangkok without sweat in my feet)or even light hiking during summer but may be not for serious or day hike especially on the Rockies. Also they're not waterproof.

If you don't need a waterproof hiking shoe this is one should be on top of your list. I almost ordered one in a male size presuming my regular female size would be too narrow. But my color taupe/teal is only available for women. Thanks to Altrec.com's free return I took a chance and am so glad I did. Not only is the color perfect with all my hiking/travelling clothes the shoe fits like a glove despite of my wide feet (one with bunyon). The sock is soft around the top no chafing no blisters and there is enough room for my toes too. No more messing with shoe laces either. They are definitely made for walking and now that I am backpacking ultralight there is no reason to ever where a boot again. These are perfect

I usually hate buying shoes over the internet. My husband liked his so much that he bought me a pair on the hunch I'd like them. I have to admit he made the right choice!
