Mountain Hardwear Phenom Backpacking Pack Mountain Hardwear: Phenom Backpacking Pack

A fantastic choice for ultralight outings or full-day climbs. Hydration system compatible.

Aptly named for its backcountry prowess the Mountain Hardware Phenom Backpack offers the functional simplicity and durability alpinists desire. For lighter loads remove the waist belt and floating top lid. Even with the lid removed a fold top closure blocks snow and rain from entering easily. When fully loaded for an overnighter or crammed with climbing hardware for a full day on a demanding route the Phenom's HDPE framesheet with perimeter alloy shaping rod assist with evenly dispersing the weight to the shoulder straps and waist belt. And for convenient tool attachment dual Axe-S™ ice axe toggles offer innovative quick release access. For an additional 1000 cubic inches of capacity be sure to check out the Mountain Hardware Trance Backpack.

Excellent for being out all day or ultralight overnights Image: 5 Stars

My wife purchased this for me as a wedding present. It was great for our honeymoon trip to Yosemite. The toggles on the outside made it easy to carry trekking poles securely. The compression straps really held the load in place on the way up Sentinel Dome. This is a great bag for someone wanting something durable that will last a number of years. It really has all you need and nothing that you don't unless you are one of those who hasn't caught on to the hydration pack craze it doesn't have a place to carry a bottle on the outside.

Well built, roomy bag. Image: 4 Stars

Mountain Hardwear makes great products and this is no exception. Very comfy to wear plenty of room my only complaint would be its kind of a pain to get your stuff in and out of quickly but everything stayed dry.

Great pack for light trips Image: 4 Stars

Perfect pack for your smaller excursions. Big on comfort and durability while not having a lot of unnecessary extras. However there are enough straps to accommodate any extras such as trekking poles or nalgenes.

Great bag just not what I wanted if for Image: 4 Stars

The bag works great for traveling and week trips. Is very comfortable to wear but I was really hoping to use it as my gym bag. It is too small for loading and unloading everything on a daily basis.
