Mountain Hardwear Women's Alchemy Jacket Mountain Hardwear: Women's Alchemy Jacket

Close-fitting cut with amazing stretch. Backed by windproof Gore™ WindStopper®.

Sculpted with a close-fitting alpine cut for climbing on rock and ice this Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket is the same one you've seen in magazines and possibly making the big moves out on the wall. It's a rugged and stretchy combination of breathable Alchemy stretch face fabric with Schoeller Softshell™ four-way stretch panels along the sides and sleeves. Everything is backed with a windproof Gorež WINDSTOPPER® Softshell Laminate that helps insulate without stifling vapor transfer. Clean Power Stretch® cuffs eliminate the fuss and protruding tabs found on some soft shells with Velcro® cuff closures. If conditions are dry the Mountain Hardwear Alchemy Jacket is also an ideal fit for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing throughout the winter months. If mobility matters and wind protection is key this articulated and athletic jacket is the right formula for you.

I work outside all day long in temperatures ranging from 15 to 50 in the winter. I needed a jacket that would keep me warm while exercising multiple horses in the morning and then teaching riding into the evening. The alchemy is perfect. It's warm it breathes it repels snow and rain and it's not bulky. I love it.

I have a Marmot Sharp Point but collar is too short. The Alchemy does all that the Sharp Point does but because it has a little extra length in the collar and back length it keeps me warmer and is my new jacket of choice. I can wear this jacket with layering through most of the MI winter (although sometimes I have to add a down vest). :)

Cut is athletic/fitted but allows up to 3 thin layers underneath; completely blocks the wind and keeps me nice and warm and the drawstring neck can be made snug and is high enough to keep the draft out (unlike my Marmot Sharp Point). I'll be wearing this all winter! :)

Used it spring 2006. Held up well in upper mountain supple enough to give you ease of mobility and warm enough with 2 layers. Would highly recommend it - very compact and looks sharp.
