There are heavier shirts that offer similar protection but you'll probably suffer under the stifling heat of the thicker pile. The 3.47-oz. Koolnit material features a wicking polyester fiber design that pulls moisture away from your skin to help you stay dry. A flatlock seam construction enhances durability while minimizing the discomfort of layering under cumbersome packloads.

I have Wicked T short-sleeve long sleeve and sleeveless shirts. They all fit perfectly (I am an XS) and are excellent performance shirts. Mountain Hardwear quality is unsurpassed.

The shirt fits well and is soft but the green 'Slime' color...is a little dingier than I expected from the website. But it's so comfortable I decided to keep it for layering.
