The only reason that I have to replace my Nalgenes is that I take them everywhere and as a result leave them everywhere and sometimes cannot locate those left behind. But I do love the wide-mouth so I can throw in a chunk of lemon or lime when I want a variation on plain water. And the taste never lingers.

Nalgenes are the best. The first two I bought were the translucent white ones that aren't so pretty and aren't made of lexan. I bought them for a 5 week backcountry/trail-working trip and they endured the whole time (and became my closest friends out there - I'm sure other Nalgene fans can relate to this). Anyway the white ones-- while they endured didn't do too well with hot water (we had to boil stream water for drinking). It was a little concave but that eventually straightened out. Though the whities have lasted me I'm retiring them and getting the tougher lexan. Raspberry red Violet and the new pink! Yes I'm starting something of a family- but Nalgenes are worth it!

Well I can say that Nalgene has kept Toledo's soccer team well hydrated on roadtrips! About 6 of us went and bought them and everyone else is jealous. We also tested our bottle one day and did a t-ball type thing and hit it with a bat. It's the best water bottle ever and I recommend it to all soccer teams.
