I had the opportunity to use this almost immediately after receiving it to renew the waterproofness of several articles of clothing. Not only that but it rained like crazy just after the application and drying!!! This stuff worked fantastically!! No wet-through no leaks no problem! I would recommend this for renewing the DWR of your outerwear shells and rain gear.

Nikwax was the product sent to me by Marmot to recondition a Ski Patrol jacket about two years ago. I assumed that they supported its use because of superior performance. I have used it three times on marine foul weather gear and my Ski Patrol outerwear. It is easy to use but even with care in application I have found that the coverage is spotty. Reapplication helps but not completely. Areas covered well seem to shed water effectively. The odor sort of an acetic acid smell tends to be strong initially but goes away after a while. It can be less than wonderful if your gear is left in a closed car or boat compartment especially in the heat.

I have a Lowe outerwear parka that was rapidly becoming ineffective in its water repellancy. I used the tech wash to clean it followed by the Spray in fabric care. I did this on a Sunday and wore it on Monday as it rained the entire day. The rain repellancy was restored 100% and it was a great purchase.

Great product with a long history of quality. This product is as necessary as capilene long underwear for anybody serious about the outdoors.
