Puts the R back in the DWR on breathable parkas and hats. Love it. It's easy to use and works really well. Need to replenish the repellency of your breathable outer wear? Go for this product by Nikwax--it's super!

easy to do but spotty coverage Image: 3 Stars

Nikwax was the product sent to me by Marmot to recondition a Ski Patrol jacket about two years ago. I assumed that they supported its use because of superior performance. I have used it three times on marine foul weather gear and my Ski Patrol outerwear. It is easy to use but even with care in application I have found that the coverage is spotty. Reapplication helps but not completely. Areas covered well seem to shed water effectively. The odor sort of an acetic acid smell tends to be strong initially but goes away after a while. It can be less than wonderful if your gear is left in a closed car or boat compartment especially in the heat.

Great product with a long history of quality. This product is as necessary as capilene long underwear for anybody serious about the outdoors.

Works, but not perfect Image: 4 Stars

I followed the instructions and ended up going through it twice using about half the bottle on my jacket. The water is beading up at the beggining of being in the rain but it stop beading after being wet a while. Also it made my jacket smell like glue but hopefully that will go away with time. But the good news is it does make the water bead initially so i guess that's what it's made to do it just doesn't bring the garment all the way back to it's brand new state.
