Osprey Packs Atmos 50 Backpack Osprey Packs: Atmos 50 Backpack

Osprey lightens up for fastpacking minimalists and active adventurers. 3200 cu. in. capacity.

If there was ever one nagging critique about most well-designed ultra-ergonomic Osprey packs it was the weight. Osprey's Atmos 50 silences the critics with over 3200 cubic inches of pack space in a supportive and functional pack design that weighs less than three pounds. If you ever wanted a supportive and lightweight backpack for moving fast and far the Osprey Atmos 50 is easily one of the most comfortable light packs on the planet. Anything that touches your back is covered with a breathable mesh or a special perforated waffle foam that won't heat you up like conventional backpanel fabrics. The backpanel on the Atmos 50 is stretched taut so the load sinks evenly into the lumbar support area instead of riding on your hips resulting in uniform pressure that neutralizes hot spots. Two quick release straps on the other side of the backpanel attach to your hydration pouch for fast refill access and versatile hydration tube routing. If you're looking for a lightweight pack for fast overnight trips or minimalist backpacking adventures the Atmos 50 backpack is one of the lightest and most comfortable designs you'll find today.

The pack like most are saying is a dream come true. It has everything you need and more for a quick nip into the backcountry on the weekend and enough room for a longer trek. It is also great for hauling gear instead of a suitcase. My only concern would be the durability of the mesh backpanel and its longterm abilities to prevent back problems. I haven't had any problems on weekend trips but on longer treks 20 miles a day for a few weeks I noticed back fatigue I haven't noticed with other packs on similar treks.

The Atmos 50 is the perfect pack for everything between an overnighter and an extended backpacking pursuit. This is a great pack for keeping your gear lean and fast and at the same time being able to fit everything you need to keep things comfortable. I love the ventilation feature and the way it contours to my back. I would highly recommend this pack to moderate lightweight enthusiasts and anyone else exploring the idea of going lightweight.

I have used this pack more times than I can count! Everything I need for a 3-4 day hike. I just took it on a 20 mile hike through the Ouchita Mountains (around Arkansas/Texas/Oklahoma) for 4 days. Held my Tent (Marmot Twilight 2) Thermarest Sleeping Bag (Marmot Sawtooth) 2 Nalgene bottles a bladder for water medkit repair kit about 10 pounds of food and about 20 other gadgets on it! The Atmos was very breathable (The hikers I went with has large sweat stains on their shoulders and waist which made them cold the entire time and I did not!) Vey convienent pockets made the trek that much more easy and enjoyable! Very good buy and well worth the money!
