A technical daypack for light and fast backcountry adventure the Osprey Stratos daypack is perfect for day hiking an afternoon at the crags even bike commuting. The sophisticated AirCore suspension system allows for full air circulation without sacrificing a stable form-fitting carry. Briefly the AirCore backpanel consists of two fiberglass struts with a center stabilization disc anchored into top and bottom ABS wings. Over the top of this lightweight hardware a tensioned mesh backpanel provides the breathable pack to body contact. The Osprey Stratos backpack offers numerous organization pockets including handy hipbelt pockets for small necessities side stretch woven pockets designed for quick access to water bottles and a large zippered front pocket in addition to the front panel access to the main compartment. Dubbed the StraightJacket compression system the Osprey Stratos backpack features arching flaps on either side of the front pocket connected via the two compression straps to wrap the load securely so it doesn't shift. I've had this for about 6 weeks now and have used it for some light hiking trips. The mesh back design keeps your back from getting sweaty but does force you to pack things in more of a vertical configuration. The side pockets hold a water bottle on each side nicely and the waist pockets come-in very handy for small things like snacks or keys. Even fully loaded the weight distribution is very good and feels like half the weight on your back! Very happy with this bag!!

We really like the mesh to keep our backs dry. We do all sorts of summer hikes as well as cross country skiing trips in the winter. The style and quality are great!

It is comfortable and cool. Lots of great pockets and places to stash extra items. It would be nice if it was waterproof because we hike in a rainforest a lot.
