Outdoor Research Men's Saturn Suit Outdoor Research: Men's Saturn Suit

A must have layer for full-on winter conditions.

This one-piece suit is ideal for winter mountaineering backcountry skiing or other activities in all-day cold. And you could do a lot worse under a dry suit. The full P-System zipper runs all the way up to the neck and has three sliders for convenient relief or excellent ventilation. The zipper is surface mounted for maximum comfort. Two large surface-mounted stretch-mesh front pockets provide tons of storage which are especially useful when afternoon warming has caused outer layers to be shucked and the Saturn becomes outerwear for a while. To minimize bulk inside boots the cuffs are made of thin super-stretchy PowerStretch 50.

Fit well and does not restrict movement. This was the first time skiing that I haven't been cold!

I don't exaggerate when I say the suit is flawless! I conforms completly to the body stretching with your arms and legs yet doesn't pull or resist your movement. I recently went climbing in the rocky mountains fell in a huge heap of snow and thought for sure my suit would soak; it repeled the water just like a scuba-suit... amazing.

The fit composition and quality are perfect! Not to mention WARM. I wear it under an Arceteryx one piece sv suit and it stretches and conforms to all body positions whether I am climbing 160' vertical ice or dry tooling! Love it!!!

Warm and functional, but poorly constucted Image: 3 Stars

I love this thing... I am habitually cold and this garment is very warm and functional. Unfortunately in the two weeks I've had it I've had to take it twice to the tailor to have seams re-sewn. The small piece of fabric around the collar was coming unravelled as I took the suit out of the bag. I was leaving for Alta in 3 days so I didn't have time to send it back. $10.00 for that. Then after two days of skiing the seam holding the in-boot section of the leg to the thicker fleece completely unravelled. This was more problematic because I didn't have the ability to fix a flat-sew seam and therefore had to ski with it in this condition for a week. I hop OR does a better job with their other merchandise.
