While significantly stiffer than traditional freestyle boots Salomon's Synapse is the boot for guys who like to ride it all in a single run. In the last few seasons Salomon built upon the Synapse's reputation for versatility by adding exceptional comfort features including a Biocage liner with heat moldable Bio custom fit. The Bio Custom Fit design is virtually the same as the Bio Custom Fit Pro that you find in the top-end Malamute boot except you don't have the custom ankle inserts. The Synapse features a supportive and anatomically contoured Ortholite footbed made from light density foam with a micro-rubber compound. The Powerlace pro soft lacing system is a customizable dual zone lace system that has user-friendly blocking system that simplifies lace adjustments faster than the normal Powerlace Pro. There's also a one-pull quicklace feature that simplifies the closure. Beneath everything is an ultra-sensitive Sensiflex outsole with rubber metatarsus pods that work as sensors between your board and the bottoms of your feet. Like the Fusion boots the Synapse also features Salomon's exclusive ADIPRENE compound to help absorb impacts from big air landings. * the lacing system is fantastic. you really can get a snug/tight/reassuring fit with the lacing system - it has 3 locking points. no heel lift! * the synapse "wide" is a fantastic shoe for those who have flat feet! i can board all day and not suffer from sore feet... * very comfortable to walk in light great fitting shoe - they never seem to lose their snug fit all day! * my only qualm is if you over tighten the shoe one of the locking buckles digs into my ankle causing it quite some pain. the workaround for this though is to loosen the boot!

These boots are excellent. They have a lot of support which may take some getting used if you have been using softer boots like I was. These boots will really connect you to your snowboard. Once you get used to them the increased control is awesome. I also like the lacing system. They are simple to get on and are adjustable via the lace locking points. These boots add up to an extremely comfortable high-quality pair of snowboard boots. They will probably last longer than I will. Like any snowboard boot buying the correct size is very important.
