Customer Reviews for the Dyad 22 Tent
Perfect tent for Philmont
I used this tent for 11 nights at Philmont (Boy Scout Ranch in New Mexico) and it was terrific. Lightweight and I wanted the space of a 2-man tent for myself for that long of a trip. Tent is very well made - easy to put up by yourself and rolls up easily to go back into the compression sack.
You wont even know it's in your pack.
I love the Dyad 22. It is the lightest two person tent I could find. The price is good too. It is simple to set up and takes less then 3 minutes to have your pad and bag inside. This tent beats a tarp, because it is waterproof all the way around, and you get bug protection. It packs small and is light. I found the inside room to be perfect (no extra wiggle room). I am 5'10" 175lbs, my wife is 5'3" 120 lbs and we fit fine with our two packs at our feet. I rate this tent a five. Its light, packs small, waterproof, bug proof, easy to set up, and the price is good. Happy hiking.
Pretty good for the price
The bad: The reviews about condensation are accurate. This tent will occasionally get very damp on the inside. I found it was worse than my friends' larger, non-single-walled tents when we camped near the Pacific Ocean. You really want to make sure that you pull the tent very tight when setting it up--don't be afraid you're going to tear it. This will help keep the ventilation open (they'are at the ends). Good: The tent is extremely light. It also takes about 3 minutes to set up, once you get the hang of it. If you're into cutting weight from your pack, going to a relatively dry place (or don't mind some dew), this is a perfect tent for you. It is possible to fit two people inside the tent, although you will be a bit snug.
