Whether it's living out of a suitcase or stuffing it all into a pack these convertible pants from The North Face are a perfectly practical call especially on trips where the temperatures fluctuate dramatically from dawn to dusk. Hidden zippers at mid thigh zip off and feature a cargo short design. Despite the durable faille weave nylon fabric and the double-needle stitching and bartacks throughout the garment these pants are amazingly lightweight and dry much more quickly than denim jeans or cotton pants. Best of all there are plenty of pockets and closures to help keep essentials secure.

I owned these pants for about a year. They were pretty comfortable but they just fell apart over the last few months. First the knee started to wear through. Then the thread that held the back pockets failed. The holes were so large that my wallet fell out while going down the stairs. I had to start carrying my wallet in the cargo pockets. I guess that's why they have so many pockets! :) Next the zipper broke. All this after just a year! I always thought TNF was expedition quality clothing. I guess I was wrong. I finally sent them in for warranty repairs and I received a cryptic letter saying something about them not being covered because of wear. Needless to say I was very disappointed and will not be purchasing any products made by The North Face from here out.

There are 2 reasons I am writing this review. 1- Altrec is terrific! They fulfill your order and deliver quickly. You get what you order. 2- The Paramount Convertible pant is a great travel solution. Whenever I travel from one climate to another I have the option of a pair of shorts or a long pair of pants to travel in. They are comfortable with lot's of storage. Great for carrying instead of holding in your hands your camera water glasses cell phone walkie talkie GPS ETC. Great fit and very easy to take care of.

I love these pants. Not only is the fabric a little better quality than most convertibles on the market the pockets are deep and well thought out. There are even 2 pockets on the right side perfect for a compass and a cell phone. I also like that the Large Regular will fit my 6'2" 34waistx34inseam almost to perfection. Most fall short in the inseam. My only problem with them so far is that I wish Alrec carried Tall sizes because Medium-Tall is actually my preferred size for these pants.

Great for outdoors travel and leisure. These pants are durable good looking with plenty of pockets.
