This backpack is certainly smaller than average but it is very good for small trips or walks. Good for traveling too as long as you don't want to bring a lot of extra clothing with you for the day. (barely fits a rain coat)

I use it for the gym. It's small enough not to be a nuisance but large enough to carry essentials (cash water mp3 etc...)!

Small enough not to weigh you down but roomy enough to hold all your stuff. I use it for a purse when I need to have my hands free. I also use it to hold water leash etc when I walk my dog in the mtns.
