Golden Gate Events

The Buffalo Soldiers, the first peacetime all-black regiments in the U.S. Army, have been immortalized in song by reggae superstar Bob Marley. Now’s your chance to learn more about them at a free workshop and tour, entitled Buffalo Soldiers in a “Jim Crow” Army, offered by Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy!

This month, the Presidio will host a storytelling event by Ranger James Osborne, who will recount the lives of the people who played a critical role in local history.

Lovers Lane is the Presidio’s oldest foot trail. For more than two centuries people have made their way to and from the Presidio and San Francisco along the scenic, romantic path. This fall, a new interactive audio experience, A Lovers’ Line, will offer a series of perspectives on the trail. Created by Jeannene Przyblyski, the audio will be accessible via a visitor’s cell phone.
