Operating Hours & Seasons

The park is open from dawn to dusk each day of the year.

The Sweetgum unreserved Picnic Area gate is open by 8:00 a.m. and closes at dusk. The campground is open every day and a campground host and U.S. Park Police are available.

Park Headquarters is open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and closed on federal holidays.

The Park Ranger Station near the campground is open 8:00 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. seven days a week and is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Off I-95,
Take Exit 23 Route 201 Kenilworth Avenue South (toward Bladensburg) to Route 193 East Greenbelt Road . (Greenbelt Road is an overpass over Route 201.) The park is a quarter mile on the right hand side of Greenbelt Road across from Fridays restaurant and Marriott Courtyard.

From Washington, D.C. ,
Take (Route 295) Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Veer right onto Route 193 Greenbelt Road West. There is the Greenway shopping center on the left. The park is on the left hand side at the 3rd traffic light across from Fridays restaurant, Capitol Cadillac, and Marriott Courtyard.

U.S. Park Police Station at entrance of park open twenty fours a day 301-344-4250.

Entrance Fees

There is no Entrance fee to Greenbelt Park.

There is a $16 campground user fee and each reserved picnic area has a fee.
Please remember 80% of the fees go to projects that help Greenbelt Park.

Fees & Reservations

Check in and register at the fee booth located at the entrance of the campground. When fee booth is closed, please use the self-registration brown envelope. 

The campground fee is $16. Remember that 80% of the fees go to Greenbelt Park.

The campground is open all year round. The campground is on a first-come, first serve basis in the offseason. Note that the campground has never filled up in the off-season.

Reservations are for Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend only. 

Credit card payment is available only through the reservation system.

The Greenbelt Park campground will accept cash or checks only.
