Haleakala National Park's summer star programs continue. Join
us at Hosmer Grove for kilo hoku (star watching), an evening of
Hawaiian star lore and amateur astronomy. As the summer stars change
so do our stories: we'll help you understand how to use the night sky
as both clock and calendar. Bring a beach mat or tarp to lie on and
dress for cold evening temperatures. Meet at the Hosmer Grove
shelter. This free hour-long program begins at 7:30 p.m. just after
sunset, Saturday the 22nd. More to come throughout the summer. The
park entrance fee of $10 applies; call 572-5559 for more information.
