August 11, 2009, 8:15 am

Maui County and Oahu are under a tropical storm watch as Tropical Storm Felicia, although weakening, is expected to bring some heavy showers Tuesday.

A storm watch for the Big Island was canceled earlier today as Felicia took a more northerly track.

Felicia is expected to be downgraded to a tropical depression Tuesday, with winds below 40 mph.

Tropical storm-force winds extend outward up to 140 miles from the center.

Maui County is under a flash flood watch through Wednesday afternoon.

The Kua O ka La charter school in Pahoa on the Big island will be closed Tuesday. Otherwise, all public schools in the state will be open Tuesday.
